Elisa's Review of 'Forever Young'

Rating: *****

'Forever Young' is a movie about love, hope and recapturing lost time. Mel Gibson stars as pre-WWII air test pilot Daniel McCormick who volunteers for a one-year-long hibernation experiment when his girlfriend is apparently killed in a car accident. He is accidently frozen for over fifty years and rediscovered in 1992 by two boys, one of them is called Nat Cooper (Elijah). After finally coping with everyday life in the 90's, he makes friends with both of the boys and Nat's mother, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. The story borders on being a tearjerker, but it's not too sappy with some touching moments and intense scenes. It's great that Gibson likes to take risks, pull back on some of his action movies and do movies like this.

For all who want to watch this just because of Elijah: he is very young, but I still think no fangirly should miss out on the scene where he's standing infront of Alice's (the girl he has a crush on) window and singing 'You Are My Sunshine'.. :)

All in all a very cute film with an unexpected but romantic ending.
